What makes SEO Techniques Used by NYC SEOs Different From Techniques Used by SEOs Anywhere Else?
There’s a difference between being from New York State and being from Manhattan, the only borough that can call itself New York, New York. Brooklyn doesn’t count so much and neither does the Bronx, and for the purposes of SEO NYC, Staten Island and Queens count even less. That’s not a put down to any of the other boroughs, it’s just a fact of life. Manhattan is hands down the closest thing there is physically (in the USA) to the internet itself – and below I’m going to make clear just how that is so.

Every time I think about this I get very excited and no matter how many ways I look at my SEO NYC theory the more excited I become about why it’s different to be an SEO expert in New York as opposed to elsewhere.
First off, NYC isn’t a place for driving around from place to place. It’s either public transportation, taxis, and/or walking and biking. This makes shopping in NYC very interesting because it makes it both convenient and practical – just like shopping on the internet.
I’ll explain: NYC is divided up into districts with similar businesses all located in the same district, usually multiple city blocks for each district. Wall Street, China Town, Little Italy, the plant district, the wholesalers district, the Village with their new age and cool stuff shops, there’s the garment district, Jazz Row, electronics shops lined up one after the other after the other all over the place, then there’s the International Diamond Exchange where booth after booth after booth of jewelers, precious metals and gemstone dealers are all lined up one after the other, etc.
The Internet is set up almost the exact same way! No looking at a site and then driving five or ten minutes to compare somewhere else – but going out of the site (back to page one or two of Google) and then heading almost instantly and effortlessly to the next search engine page result. That’s NYC SEO – you go out of the store and literally 15 feet away is another store selling the exact same thing you’re looking for at almost the exact same price. You can price shop and benefits and offers shop until you find the precise shop with the best deal for you.

While the overall SEO checklist basics are the same and you still need backlinks and to optimize for Google search, SEO in the city is all about marketing.
Search Engine Optimization will provide you more traffic to your web site, and if done right will also provide you with more relevant traffic looking for exactly what you’re offering. But SEO NYC style knows that simply having people come and look isn’t the same thing as them making purchases.

The difference between NYC NY SEO and “somewhere else” SEO is that New Yorker’s know that it’s the sales marketing that makes the difference in succeeding and failing to close a sale – and it’s the quick responsive wheeling and dealing that makes the busiest businesses on the block succeed when literally sandwiched between a few dozen others in the district selling exactly the same things at the same prices.
